All new reissue of the Artist’s 1930 graphic novel

New York Review Comics has just published a handsome new edition of William Gropper’s “Alay-Oop”- not to be confused with the caveman comic strip, “Alley Oop”, introduced in newspapers in 1932.  It’s about a love triangle comprised of a pair of acrobats and a singer in early 20th century New York City.  The story “Soars and swings across the pages”, says Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman.
